JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Quality Control Specialist educates WTI personnel on the proper use and application of products, providing installation training both on and off the roof. They oversee large self-performed projects from start to finish, conducting inspections during and after project completion. The QCS conducts regular job site visits to ensure quality and consistency nationwide through proper roof repairs and product application.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure proper execution and delivery of all WTI GS and GC self-performed roofing work.
• Provide technical and application training in field and shop settings.
• Conduct hands-on application training and supervision of roof coatings and installation.
• Attend pre-construction meetings for large projects and participate in project start-ups to discuss scope of work.
• Visit projects at intervals to assess work and provide corrective guidance.
• Perform pre-final inspections to ensure zero-punch list completion and conduct final inspections as needed.
• Conduct pre-project inspections and provide technical support, including peel tests, product testing, and recommendations.
• Perform post-project inspections to verify quality workmanship and proper material use.
• Provide product diagnostic support to prevent misuse of products.
• Conduct roof inspections, prepare written reports, and document with photos.
• Conduct on-site safety audits and collaborate with the safety team.
• Review and train on large warranty adjustment projects.
• Communicate professionally with team members and management.
• Complete daily reports and activity logs, including safety and QC reports.
• Support regional activities during weather-related disruptions.
• Facilitate training sessions in classroom settings.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.
• Travel within the territory and nationally as needed, submitting expense reports timely.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 5 years in roofing, repair, troubleshooting, or field service.
• Knowledge of commercial roofing systems: built-up, modified, single ply, and metal.
• Understanding of roof coating systems.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Strong mechanical aptitude in roofing or building science.
• Experience in field service leadership roles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internal business systems.
• Deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience with product applications.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong work ethic and multitasking skills.
• Experience with various technologies and software.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
