West Fraser is excited to offer an opportunity for an Entry-Level Millwright, based at our McDavid, Florida location. As a crucial member of our maintenance team, you will work under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor, contributing to our company-wide continuous improvement initiatives through your expertise in troubleshooting and maintenance strategies. Your role is essential in ensuring safe and efficient operation of all machinery within the mill.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on machinery.
  • Implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs for equipment.
  • Repair and maintain industrial equipment, including conveying systems and major machinery like debarkers, canters, gang saws, and edgers.
  • Conduct welding and operate oxy-acetylene torches.
  • Use and maintain basic tools, such as grinders, hydraulic presses, drill presses, and air tools.
  • Assist in moving machinery and equipment safely using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Self-motivated and able to work safely in high-pressure environments.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of verifiable work experience as a Millwright.
  • Proficiency in welding techniques (GMAW and SMAW).
  • Experience working with cutting torches (Oxygen/Acetylene).
  • Ability to maintain and operate basic tools effectively.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting drawings and printed instructions.
  • Basic understanding of alignments for pumps, sheaves, sprockets, and machine centers.
  • Availability to work weekends as needed.
  • Will undergo skills assessment, background check, reference check, drug screening, and physical examination.
