At Bigham Cable Construction, Inc., you'll serve as an onsite Assistant Project Manager based in Pensacola, FL, sharing responsibility for managing assigned projects and ensuring their accuracy, completeness, safety, and profitability. This role requires a strong working knowledge of the telecommunications industry, including Fiber to the Home (FTTH) systems, BAU phone design and construction, and familiarity with telecom and phone billing codes. You should have experience in phone network design and field construction processes, along with proficiency in computers and project management software. A solid understanding of aerial lift devices, utility lines and poles, and various telecommunications construction equipment is essential. The ideal candidate can confidently read, interpret, input, and analyze technical data to support both fiber and phone infrastructure projects.

What you'll do

  • Supervising, developing, and supporting team members across assigned projects to promote safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Overseeing Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and BAU phone design and construction projects to ensure quality, compliance, and timely completion.
  • Reviewing project tasks, reports, and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company and customer standards.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously; coordinating crews, schedules, materials, and customer expectations.
  • Implementing and maintaining processes to streamline project execution, improve communication, and reduce rework.
  • Communicating daily with employees, contractors, vendors, and customers to resolve issues, share updates, and ensure project goals are met.
  • Monitoring project progress and financials, including verifying billing codes and project data for accuracy.
  • Maintaining professionalism under pressure, making sound decisions in fast-paced, high-stress situations.
  • Collaborating with leadership to identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to overall team success.

What you'll need
  • Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States
  • Able to pass pre-employment screenings
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in telecommunications or construction
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience with Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and fiber network construction
  • Knowledge of BAU phone design, construction, and telecom billing codes
  • Familiar with phone network design, troubleshooting, and field construction
  • Understanding of aerial and underground construction methods and safe equipment operation
  • Proficient with project management and telecom design software
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and drawings
  • A team-oriented, proactive mindset focused on safety, quality, and efficiency
