Job Title After School Child Care Special Needs Worker

Supervised by/Reports to: After School Care Site Manager and Program Coordinator

Job Requirements

• Meets job qualifications as outlined by Baldwin County Public Schools for a Special Education Paraprofessional.
• Maintain CPR and MCS certifications.

Primary Responsibility:

• Supervise identified, individual students as directed by Site Manager.
• Assist in implementing ASC activities for the student along with other tasks as assigned.
• Assist student with basic needs such as: personal care, exercise, etc.
• Assist in managing the behavior of the student and crisis intervention.
• Share training experiences, techniques, and knowledge of programs and materials with fellow workers.
• Exhibit knowledge of ASC procedures as stated in Parent and Staff Handbooks.
• Exhibit ability to work cooperatively with other employees and students.
• Remain actively involved with assigned students at all times.
• Follow ASC cell phone policy.

Major Responsibilities:

• Assist with students with special needs according to their needs.
• Follow Safety Protocols/guidance at all times.
• Assist with preparation of materials for student use.
• Attend team meetings as requested.
• Assumes other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment: This position is paid at the Special Needs Worker EWA rate, unless the employee's education level rate would be higher.
