Pay Range: $140,000 - $145,000. Pay is based on numerous factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

This role is based in Florida. All personnel will be required to live on-site, and meals and housing will be provided.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly capable Deputy Project Manager to support the Project Manager in the comprehensive oversight of a large-scale State custodial facility. This pivotal role involves assisting in the strategic management of a diverse workforce of nearly a thousand personnel, including Custodial Officers, Armed and Unarmed Security Guards, Janitorial Staff, Translators, and various other support staff. The Deputy Project Manager will be a key partner in ensuring the seamless, compliant, and efficient execution of all facility operations, in strict adherence to U.S. government and state contract requirements, established regulations, and safety protocols. This position demands exceptional organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and a proven ability to support the management of complex, multi-disciplinary teams in a high-stakes, secure environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Project Manager in providing leadership and mentorship to a diverse workforce of nearly a thousand personnel, fostering a cohesive and high-performing operational environment.
• Support the daily planning, direction, and coordination of the custodial facility's and staffing operations, ensuring all functional areas meet or exceed contract performance standards.
• Monitor and ensure strict adherence to all terms and conditions of the U.S. government contract, facility policies, and relevant federal regulations.
• Contribute to the development, review, and submission of comprehensive operational reports, performance metrics, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate on staffing level optimization including managing the project schedule and administrative requirements, resource allocation, and budget management to ensure fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency.
• Assist in the oversight of all security protocols, emergency response plans, and safety procedures across all operational departments.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager to identify training needs for staff, ensuring personnel receive necessary certifications and ongoing professional development.
• Serve as a key point of contact for government representatives and other external agencies, fostering strong collaborative relationships on behalf of the leadership team.
• Support the establishment of performance objectives, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proactively identify and report operational challenges, and assist in developing effective, timely solutions to maintain service continuity and high standards.

Qualifications
• Must have a minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in project or operations management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior support role.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting the management of government contracts, preferably within custodial, security, or large-scale facility operations.
• Proven track record of successfully contributing to the management of diverse workforces.
• Experience managing a similar-sized workforce on previous projects
• Strong background in compliance, regulatory adherence, and report generation for government entities.
• Exceptional organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
• Comprehensive understanding of security protocols, emergency management, and personnel management best practices in a secure environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a deployed, on-site living environment with flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be fluent in English.
• Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
• Ability to pass a medical assessment and drug screening

Work Environment:

Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Physical Requirements:

Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach during shifts. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
