Job Summary: Responsible for performing pharmacy support activities under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Must have knowledge of and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures. A Shipping Clerk may be the first point of contact for customers, so it is very important that customers are greeted and assisted in a friendly and professional manner. The clerk is responsible for verifying addresses and medications, and organizing, packing, and shipping of those medications to meet timed pick-ups. Other responsibilities include ordering and managing supplies for pharmacy operations, stocking and organizing the storage areas, and organizing and restocking inventory, including transferring large cases of ice from storage to shipping area. Clerk shall work under the supervision of a pharmacist and is not permitted to perform duties restricted to pharmacists or technicians. Organization, time management, and attention to detail are crucial for this position.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Experience in a shipping role
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Able to use a computer and other office technology
• Attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills

Physical Requirements:

• Proficient in using a computer and related equipment, including printers and fax machines.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Fine Motor Skills
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds as needed. Moving, lifting, or carrying boxes daily.
• 20/20 vision (with or without corrective aids) required for visual inspection of drug products, in accordance with legal requirements.
