Reporting to the Comprehensive Services Department Manager, this position is responsible for safely transporting patients following all regulatory and CARES standards. The Transporter is responsible for storage, maintenance and cleaning of transport equipment as well as timely rounding for equipment pickup and delivery. Under the direction of the Manager, the Transporter will function within the guidelines of the hospital's policies and procedures. He/she is responsible for the safe transport of patients via wheelchair; stretcher or bed. The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
