Entry-Level Industrial Electrician

Located at our sawmill operation in McDavid, FL (32 miles north of Pensacola)

This role reports directly to the Electrical Supervisor and plays a vital part in our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test and evaluate electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures using tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Inspect electrical components to identify issues or maintenance needs while ensuring adherence to regulatory codes.
  • Troubleshoot, program, and upgrade Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) effectively.
  • Understand and modify instrumentation loop diagrams, drawings, and schematics as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain variable speed drives and power distribution systems.
  • Follow design and assembly instructions to install electrical equipment in the plant.
  • Collaborate with vendors for necessary parts and maintenance recommendations.
  • Operate lift equipment when required.
  • Be flexible to work outside scheduled hours to support mill production as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience as an Electrician, particularly in Industrial/Manufacturing settings.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends.
  • Background check, reference check, physical, and drug screen will be conducted by the employer.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC5 and Studio 5000.
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley Panelviews and communications (RS232 & Ethernet).
  • Knowledge of scanning and optimization systems within the lumber manufacturing industry.
  • Understanding of process network communication components including Ethernet and fiber optics.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs individually and up to 75lbs with assistance.
  • Frequent walking, stretching, bending, climbing, and stooping required.
  • Be prepared to work in non-air-conditioned environments and near heated equipment.
  • Availability for overtime and on-call support for 24/7 operations.
