Site Overseer/Construction Estimator
A well-established General Contractor has an immediate opportunity for a Site Overseer/Construction Estimator. The steady, rapid growth of our company has created the need to hire someone who can step in and immediately oversee and estimate construction projects. The successful candidate will have strong leadership abilities, detail oriented for a complete estimate, a passion for timeliness and excellence, and the ability to communicate to all levels in an organization.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for construction projects structural, architectural, plot drawings and specification sheets from excavation through occupancy.• Provide leadership, training, support, and direction to project owners, project engineers, sub-contractors architects and subordinates.
• Plan the allocation of resources balancing the need of other ongoing projects.
• Guarantee that all projects meet the high-quality standards required by our company
• Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the profitability of jobs
• Verifiable ability to write reports, business correspondence and be able to read plans
• Management by example with the ability to solve practical problems
• Professional aptitude to attend job site meetings and interact with financial institutions, customers, employees, vendors and project team members.
Essential Qualifications:
• Minimum Four (4) years of experience as an Site Overseer and Heavy Construction Estimator.
• Must have experience in quantity takeoffs including clearing, dirt work, erosion control, curb, sod, fence, utilities and all other associated scopes of work. Familiarity with Elevation Pro is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree .
• Experience in managing projects at or below budget.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate variances to superintendents, subcontractors, craftsman and vendors
• Verifiable success at forecasting material, equipment and manpower needs
• Self-Motivated with the desire to function independently
• A passion for quality, timely work within budgeted guidelines
