West Fraser is seeking an Entry-Level Millwright who will play a crucial role in our ongoing commitment to operational excellence at our facility in McDavid, Florida. As a contributing member of our maintenance team, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of our machinery while helping to advance our continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, and perform maintenance on various types of machinery.
  • Implement preventative and predictive maintenance protocols to enhance equipment longevity.
  • Repair and maintain essential industrial equipment, including conveying systems and major machine centers like debarkers, canters, and gang saws.
  • Utilize welding skills and operate oxy-acetylene torches effectively.
  • Employ basic tools including grinders, hydraulic presses, drill presses, and air tools safely and correctly.
  • Assist in moving machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, and trucks.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work safely, even in high-pressure situations.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 3 years of verifiable experience as a millwright.
  • Experience in welding (GMAW and SMAW) is essential.
  • Familiarity with using Cutting Torches (Oxygen/Acetylene).
  • Skilled in operating basic mechanical tools, including grinders and drill presses.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings and printed instructions.
  • Basic understanding of pump alignments, sheaves, sprockets, and machine centers.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
  • Successful candidates will undergo a skills assessment, background check, reference check, drug screening, and physical examination.
