Job Description:
The Recruitment/Retention Specialist - PSC Rebuilds is a full-time professional position. The successful candidate will support the PSC Rebuilds grant by assisting in recruiting, advising, and retaining of low- to moderate-income residents in non-credit carpentry, electricity, HVAC, masonry, plumbing, and welding trades programs. This position reports to the Coordinator of Corporate Professional Development. This is a grant-funded position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Establishes and maintains a network of resources both within and outside the College to support recruitment and retention efforts.
* Prepares written reports, graphs, and statistical data on recruitment and retention activities.
* Assists the Coordinator by managing administrative details associated with the grant.
* Distributes informational materials, such as program requirements and class schedules, to prospective and continuing students.
* Represents the construction trades programs at college fairs, job fairs, community meetings, and other activities.
* Monitors the progress of students throughout the program.
* Advises students on personal and academic issues and refers them to College resources as needed.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate degree. Appropriate work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement on a year-to-year basis. Experience in administration, data entry, and microcomputer applications. The successful result of a criminal background check is required.
Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
Preferred Qualifications: Customer service experience, including strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use computer software to create reports and track data. Experience in working with groups of students. Ability to present information and respond to questions from students and teamwork skills. Previous experience with National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certifications.
Annual Salary: $42,000.00
